Memories of Anita by Brenda and Gunnar Schultzberg

Anita has played such a big role in our lives. Brenda met Anita in London in 1959 when she started working for George S May on the Strand. They got very friendly and had a good time and spent a lot of time at the Swedish Club in London.
It was Anita who encouraged Brenda to apply to an advert about a job in Gothenburg and Anita helped Brenda writing the application letter. Brenda left for Gothenburg in May 1962 and I met her there very soon after her arrival. So I have Anita to thank that met Brenda.
We got married in December 1963 and our first guest in our apartment was Anita who stayed with us for a few days.
The next time we met was in Toronto in 1967, there Anita was on leave from Ghana to visit her husband’s parents there. We had a very nice meal in a restaurant called Moulin Rouge.
Next, Anita turned up in Nairobi in 1971 and they again worked together, now at the Swedish Embassy. I think Brenda was the first to know from Anita that she had met a wonderful charming young man while in London. She then became the go-between for your correspondence.
Brenda met up with Anita and Joe in a pub in London on one of her stopovers and learned that you were about to get married.
We have since met up on numerous occasions at College Road, Dulwich, Fjallbacka, Geneva, Clowders Road, in Ed in the north of Sweden, cruising on the Baltic and more recently in Bournmouth. Several times we have had the good fortune of being together with the four of you as a happy family.
We will always remember Anita with a happy smile on her face, she was a wonderful lady.
